The upcoming Courage and Consequence album being put out by Conan Neutron is going to have the words "unabridged audio" somewhere on it's cover, which is great, seeing as how Conan is forging ahead and getting all the material onto a single slab of vinyl proper, thus truly making it unabridged. 12 bands, 12 tracks, all anti-Rove.
However, it makes one wonder if the book by Karl Rove will also have an unabridged audio, someone monotonously reading all 608 pages of it so that people can then listen to it on a 4-CD set or something? Who would do this? And why? Probably the same people that send televangelists money. Furthermore what B-list Republican actor would they hire to read the story? Or would Rove do it himself? The whole concept is cringe-worthy, and best not thought about. Actually, I'd kind of like someone to read Rove's draft deferment record especially since the swift boating of John Kerry is one of the most egregious character assassinations ever committed, and even more ludicrous in light of things like this. Blood boiling.
Better to work out some of that anger by listening to Courage and Consequence the album. Follow the links on the first post in this blog (somewhere down at the bottom of this page) and find out a little bit about some of the bands that will be on the compilation album, and listen to some of there other works. Thanks to Hurry Up Shotgun I've been walking around the house saying "Put the Ship Up for Sail" for the last hour or two, and "Cicada Wail" has helped a bit as well. I'm now going to mellow out just a touch with The Heavenly States for a bit.

Courage and Consequence Excerpts
As of yet there are no excerpts from Karl Rove's upcoming memoir which has been mistitled "Courage and Consequence". At 608 pages you would think that Simon and Schuster would be able to throw out a bone or two, but it's all being kept under wraps, so as of yet, we can only speculate as to how poor the book will actually be.
In fact, let's just look at it for it's size. 608 pages. Do you really want to read a book that won't really reveal anything at all about the man most appropriately known as "turdblossom"? I mean, it's not going to have any startling confessions about his hand in the Swift Boating of John Kerry, or the push-polling tactic used against John McCain, or his involvement in the Valerie Plame affair. Instead it's just going to be 608 pages of him espousing his conservative start with the College Republicans and his more obvious and mundane administrative work with various Republican campaigns. Probably nothing about his student deferments and missing eligibility transfer to the draft board in Maryland, nothing about his brush with Watergate, his two divorces, or anything else of real substance. He's not going to write a confessional or come anywhere close to the truth, so why read a single page of it much less 608 of them?
Courage and Consequence the book. A waste of trees for a minimum of content.
Courage and Consequence the album will not be a waste of trees. Vinyl records are made of polyvinyl chloride, a thermoplastic polymer. Up to 57% of it's mass is chlorine, which means that it requires less petroleum than other polymers, which means that you don't have to worry too much about massive consumption of fossil fuels when enjoying the music that it will produce. So listen to some emotive blasts about Karl Rove and forget about the 608 pages of pointless drivel about to be published by a man whose hand would be clammy and flacid and unpleasant to shake.

Courage and Consequence Best Value
The upcoming book by Karl Rove egregiously entitled Courage and Consequence is already available for pre-order at both the publisher Simon and Schuster, and Amazon.com. Simon and Schuster are selling it for $30 and Amazon.com has it on pre-order for $20. So which of these represents the best value?
As it turns out, neither of them are the best value. Why spend any money at all on a book that you won't even read because it will be a pile of turgid conservative auto-eroticism? You'll be able to pick up copies of this book for free at garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets nationwide within no time at all (trust me, people will be giving them away), and why would you want to pick them up for free? Because you can help start fires with them, and when winter comes, it will make good sense to use it's pages to start fires in your hearth, stove, or fireplace. Nothing warms the heart like schlock on fire.
So what can you do with the $20 that you have just saved by not purchasing Karl Rove's Courage and Consequence? You can pre-order at a bargain price of $20 the soon to be released Courage and Consequence compilation LP which itself promises to pack enough latent energy to power the heaters in your home, and in your heart, throughout many a winter, and thus free you from the onerous thought of even having to touch aforementioned book at all. Because really, even if you could start a fire with it, why would you want something Rovian in your home?
Why Rove when you can Rock? Courage and Consequence available at the absolute best price here.

Courage and Consequence Review
Courage and Consequence the book by Karl Rove. You already know it's going to be bad. However, the compilation LP? Should be awesome.
The subtitle for Karl Rove's book Courage and Consequence is "My Life as a Conservative in the Fight". What fight? Against whom? Oh, wait. The fight against things like truth, liberty, justice, transparency, and all the things that America really holds dear and needs. Karl Rove's role as a Conservative against that sort of thing. Got it.
Really though, his new book is just a fight for more dollars and more attention for someone who should probably be treated with contempt for what is sure to be a self-aggrandizing revisionist memoir. But don't let Karl Rove get you down. Stand up and fight by clicking on his name and finding out the sonic truth.

12 Reasons you shouldn't read Courage and Consequence
There are at least 12 reasons why you shouldn't read Courage and Consequence by Karl Rove, and probably dozens upon dozens more that I haven't thought of. It's obviously going to be a self-gratifying puff-piece that revises his asinine behaviour from cretinous to mythical and embellishes his record of villainy into one of nobleness.
On the surface of it, Rove looks fat and jolly. He looks like he should be selling bait at a tackle shop. He bears a passing resemblance to the outstanding actor Ned Beatty (many apologies Ned), and perhaps this is fitting because it is Ned Beatty's character in the movie "Network" who really delivers the ultimate lines on how media will be used to control our society. Paddy Chayevsky's Oscar for Best Original Screenplay was well-deserved, and the screenplay itself was depressingly prophetic.
Karl Rove's insidious and deceitful manipulation of the election system, and Machiavellian manipulation of the media, as well as his outright violation of the law really means that he should be shunned and dismissed and serving jail time for being the lout that he is. Instead he seems set to reap even more rewards and money with a fat book deal and book tour based on a memoir that was probably ghost written for him and then glossed over even further by his bovine hand.
Well, not everyone is going to stand for it. The excellent Conan Neutron has started a project entitled Courage and Consequence featuring 12 excellent bands who are also just as irritated by the organism that is Karl Rove as he is. It's going to be a compilation LP non-celebrity musical roast of Rove and his shortcomings. The bands featured and the tracks they are contributing are as follows:
The Heavenly States- A Man For Our Times
Generalissimo - Swarm
Cartographer - The Biggest Asshole In the World
Cold Lake - Courage and Consequence
Victory and Associates - Lies, and the Lying Liars That Sell Them
Rival Dickens - Forget the Naughts (Rick Valentin from Poster Chlidren solo)
United Sons of Toil - Invention VS Innovation
Death Dream - Karl Rove, Let's Get Dirty
Have Special Power - A Rove by Any Other Name
Hurry Up Shotgun- Car Bomb
Lambs of Abortion - New American Century
We're Gonna Fight the Eskimos Next - Don't Praise the Machine

Interested in purchasing this? It's affordable, cheap, discounted even, considering the quality of the work, and perhaps the free shipping is included in the price? It's available for pre-order, you can have it weeks before anyone else! It's grand, it's hyped, it's available here.
The idea began as an internet rant and quickly has expanded since then.
Karl Rove, Bush's brain, the man behind George W. Bush's presidency wrote a memoir and had the unmitigated gall to call it "Courage and Consequence". I'm irritated by a lot of things, but this really rubbed me the wrong way. The architect of the Swift Boat Veterans, 2 wars, and our economic crisis taking a victory lap and making money on book tours? Courage?
